On April 20, 2023 at Athens time, the WOAC Executive President Ms. Rachel Qin, together with WOAC President of Advisory Committee Mr. Michele Genovese and other colleagues, visited the Athens Conservatoire. The Principal of Athens Conservatoire Mr. Philippos Tsalahouris, on behalf of the conservatoire, welcomed the team of Ms. Rachel, who have had cordial and in-depth exchanges and reached a number of consensuses and intentions for future cooperation.
President Rachel Qin Presented WOAC Academic Experts Committee Certificate to Principal Philippos Tsalahouris
The Athens Conservatoire is the most ancient performing arts educational institution in modern Greece, which was founded in 1871 by a non-profit organization “music and opera council”, making great contributions to the culture development of Greece.
Principal Philippos Tsalahouris is a very famous and prolific musician and composer. He has been a member of the Union of Greek Composers since 1996, and in December 2008 his works were awarded the "Papaioannou" prize by the Academy of Athens. He has composed more than 100 musical works, and his most famous work is the one he created for the 2008 Beijing Olympics torch gathering ceremony.
President Rachel Qin introduced the origins of the World Olymp'Arts Council, the OLYMP'ARTS 2023 and ancient Greek culture and art, “arts connect the world”, the mission and vision of reviving Olympic art, and the original intention for world peace and the future of mankind. Principal Philippos Tsalahouris expressed his recognition and was very happy to compose an anthem for the OLYMP'ARTS 2023. He also suggested that the OLYMP'ARTS 2023 should be closely integrated with Greek culture and the tradition of ancient Greek art events for dissemination.
Principal Philippos Tsalahouris accompanied President Rachel Qin on a visit to the Athens Conservatoire. The Athens Conservatoire is a renowned arts and cultural center with an iconic "Bauhaus" building in a prime location in the heart of Athens. In the future, some activities related to the OLYMP'ARTS will also be held at the Athens Conservatoire.
