Since establishing the World Olymp'Arts Council, Marc Verriere had always dedicated himself to putting on a worldwide art feast. Due to the limitation of technologies and transports among others, his dedication was not fully realised. The internet made it possible to collect works of art from the world and put them on show and evaluation, and Marc Verriere started to prepare for the first Olymp'Arts Gala since 2017. He wanted it to take place in 2021 in Cannes, France.
According to his plan, the opening ceremony and the awarding ceremony will take place in Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, and the exhibitions will be in the Auditorium Louis Lumière and the Théâtre Claude Debussy. The entire nation of France took the event of high regards and Marc Verriere received letters of support from the French President’s General Office, the French National Commission for UNESCO, the French Ministry of Culture, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the French Ministry of Ecological Transitions and the government of the City of Cannes.
The world of art also reacted — the official website was built and artists from more than 100 countries submitted more than 6,000 pieces of works. France and the whole world was looking forward to Olymp'Arts Gala.
However, Olymp'Arts Gala was put to a halt in 2020 due to the pandemic. Nonetheless, the significance of the event, the values addressed in the Founding Charter and the vision of Marc Verriere were all recognised by everyone involved in the preparation of the event.
