The OLYMP'ARTS 2023 Ceremony officially opened on October 5 at the Zappeion in Athens, Greece. Held every four years, this prestigious global celebration of the arts is open to artists worldwide. The 2023 edition focused on issues closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, under the theme: “Environment, Climate, and Energy.”
OLYMP'ARTS 2023 presented five prestigious awards: Environmental Cultural Promoter Award, Outstanding Contribution Award, Artistic Luminary Award, Artistic Design Master Award, and Hexastar Brilliance Honor. These awards aim to recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the advancement of the arts.
1. Mr. Xikun Yuan, the United Nations’ first “Master of Environmental Art” and renowned sculptor, received the Environmental Cultural Promoter Award. Award presented by: Michele Genovese, Chair of the WOAC Advisory Board and former Member of the European Parliament.
2. Mr. Derek Brown, renowned American director and producer, received the Outstanding Contribution Award. Award presented by: Kees van Oostrum, President of the American Society of Cinematographers.
3. Mr. Paul Thompson, Vice Chancellor of the Royal Academy of Arts in the UK, received the Artistic Luminary Award.
4. Mr. Wallace Chan, internationally renowned jewelry design and carving master, jewelry creator, and visual artist, received the Artistic Design Master Award. Award presented by: Marc Verriere, Founding President of the World Olymp'Arts Council (WOAC).
5. Mr. Philippos Tsalachouris, Dean of the Athens Conservatoire and Academician of the Athens Conservatoire, received the Hexastar Brilliance Honor. Award presented by: Rachel Qin, Executive Chairperson of the World Olymp'Arts Council (WOAC).
